October is Breast Cancer Awareness month which is something near and dear to us here at Fig & Willow. Here is a letter from our founder, Katie.
Breast Cancer seems to be far too common to get! My Mom, Aunt and Grandmother all on the maternal side had breast cancer. So it feels pretty certain I will get it too. My most important job has been being a mother and wanting to be here for them as long as possible! These three and my husband, Donnie, make my life so blessed. Getting checked early or every six months, depending on your history is hoping to catch it early enough!
Life is fragile and short. We never know what we are going to get dealt. But i believe certain things you can stay on top of in order to do our best to stay a little longer.
While I think it's important to check yourself monthly - October is all about raising awareness. So don't forget to check of make that mammogram appointment you've been putting off!
